What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Baking soda

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Use a clean cloth to gently blot the stain to remove as much of toothpaste as possible. Try not to rub the stain or you can spread it further onto the fabric.

Step 2: Make a Paste

Mix together a paste of two parts baking soda and one part water. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Prepare a Soap Mixture

Mix together a cleaning solution of ¼ cup of white vinegar and ¼ cup of dish soap.

Step 4: Apply the Soap Mixture

Spread the mixture onto stained area and let it soak in for 10 minutes. During this time, use a clean cloth to scrub the stain lightly.

Step 5: Wash Clothing

Finally, wash the clothing in warm or hot water, using laundry detergent. Do an additional rinse cycle to ensure that all of the soap residue has been removed.
