Tencel fabrics are made from fibers of the eucalyptus tree and are known for their incredible softness and drape. They are a popular fabric for clothing, linens, and more. However, toothpaste can leave unflattering stains on these fabrics, which can be tricky to remove. Luckily, there are some easy tips and tricks that you can use to get rid of toothpaste stains from Tencel fabrics.

What You Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cloth
  • Soft brush

Step 1: Pre-treat Stain with Vinegar

Start by pre-treating the stain with white vinegar. This helps loosen stain and makes it easier to remove. To do this, take a cloth and dampen it with white vinegar. Gently rub the stain using the vinegar-dampened cloth.

Step 2: Sprinkle Baking Soda on Stain

Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda onto the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, then brush the baking soda off fabric with a soft brush.

Step 3: Wash the Fabric with Detergent

Wash the fabric with detergent according to instructions on the care label. If the instructions say to machine wash, use the gentle cycle and cold water. If the instructions say to hand wash, use cold water and a mild detergent.

Step 4: Dry the Fabric

Dry the fabric in the dryer or allow it to air dry. If you choose to dry it in the dryer, use the low heat setting to avoid damaging the fabric.
