Removing toothpaste stains from tank tops is actually quite simple as long as you act quickly. The sooner you treat the stain, the more likely it is that you can get it out.
Step 1: Remove Wet Toothpaste
Start by gently dabbing the area with a white cloth or paper towel to absorb as much wet toothpaste as possible. If tank top is washable, rinse the stain with cold water.
Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain
If there is still some toothpaste left on the tank top, pre-treat the stained area with a liquid laundry detergent by applying a few drops directly to the stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse with cold water.
Step 3: Wash the Tank Top
If stain is still there, put tank top in the washing machine. Use warm water and your regular laundry detergent. To boost the cleaning power, you can also add a half cup of baking soda to the load.
Step 4: Dry Tank Top
Once the tank top is washed and rinsed, hang it up to air dry. Do not place it in the dryer, as this may set the stain in permanently. Once the garment is completely dry, check to see if the stain is completely gone.
