The first thing you’ll want to do is take a damp cloth and gently blot the stain. Make sure that the cloth is just damp, not soaked, or it could make the stain worse. Blot the stain in a circular motion for about a minute or two to loosen it up.
Mix together 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water in a bowl or other container until they are evenly combined. Take an old toothbrush and dip it into solution. Gently scrub the stained area of swim trunks with the toothbrush until the stain has lifted off.
Once the stain has been removed, rinse the trunks with cold water and then dry them off with a towel. If the stain isn’t completely gone after one cleaning, you may need to repeat the process a few times until it lifts off.
