The first step in removing toothpaste stains from sweatpants is to treat the stain as soon as possible. If the toothpaste has been allowed to set in the fabric, use cold water to remove as much of excess toothpaste as possible. To do this, run cold water over the affected area and gently rub the fabric together in order to loosen the dried toothpaste. This step should also be done if stain is fresh and still wet.

Next, spray a mild laundry pre-spray directly onto stain. Allow pre-spray to sit for at least five minutes before using a soft-bristled brush or a cloth to gently scrub the stain. The pre-spray will help break down the stain and make it easier to remove.

Once stain has been treated with pre-spray, it is time to wash the sweatpants. Use a mild detergent and warm water for the washing process. Do not use hot water as this can further set the stain into the fabric. After the washing cycle is complete, inspect the fabric to make sure the stain is gone. If the stain persists, repeat the pre-spray and washing steps until the stain is entirely removed.

After the stain has been removed, allow the sweatpants to air dry. Do not put them in the dryer as heat can cause stain to set permanently into the fabric. And it goes without saying, do not iron the stained area as this can also cause stain to set permanently.

With the right technique and supplies, you can easily remove toothpaste stains from your sweatpants. Following the above steps should help you get rid of the stain quickly and efficiently, without damaging the fabric.
