What You'll Need

  • Detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Stain remover
  • White rag

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Blot stained area gently with a white rag or paper towel to remove as much of the toothpaste stain as possible.
  2. Mix 1 tablespoon of detergent with 2 cups of warm water. Dampen a white rag in the solution and blot the stain until it starts to lift.
  3. Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of warm water. Dampen a fresh white rag in this solution and blot stained area to remove any remaining residue.
  4. If the stain persists, gently rub in a stain remover following the directions on the packaging. Soak the sweater in cold water for 20 minutes and then launder as normal.
