Step 1: Gently blot or scrape off any excess toothpaste from the area with a clean cloth.
Step 2: Turn the sweater inside out and soak it in cold water for several hours.
Step 3: Pre-treat the stained area with a bit of laundry detergent or stain remover and let sit for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Soak sweater in a warm water and laundry detergent solution for at least an hour.
Step 5: Launder as usual according to the care instructions on tag. Consider air drying or laying flat to air dry, as toothpaste is acidic and can cause fading in some fabrics.
Step 6: If stain persists after laundering, repeat the pre-treatment and laundering steps.
