Nobody likes it when toothpaste splatters all over your favorite pair of sunglasses. Thankfully, a few simple steps can help you get rid of those pesky toothpaste stains and restore your shades to their shining glory.
Before you start, you'll want to make sure the lens is removed. This will keep the lens from accidentally being scratched or damaged during cleaning. Take some warm water and mild soap, mix them together and apply the solution to frame using a soft cloth or brush. Gently scrub it until toothpaste stain is gone, then rinse off any remaining soap. If the stain persists, try using a rubbing alcohol solution instead.
Once frame is clean, you can focus on the lens. Start by wiping lens with a soft cloth or brush and a warm water and mild soap mixture. You can use a bit of rubbing alcohol too if needed. If toothpaste is dried on, take a soft cloth and some non-abrasive cleaning solution (like a window cleaner) and gently rub it into the stain until the toothpaste is gone. If the toothpaste has lingered for some time, it might be more effective to use a toothbrush dipped in the cleaning solution.
After the lens and frame are free of toothpaste, you can give your sunglasses a bit of extra shine by polishing the frame. Use a soft cloth and some polish designed specifically for eyewear frames. Make circular, light motions as you buff the frame until it's gleaming.
And that's it! Your sunglasses should now be free of any toothpaste stains and dazzling like the day you got them. Enjoy your newly polished eyewear, and remember to be extra careful around toothpaste in the future.
