Step 1: Scrape Off Excess Toothpaste with a Plastic Knife or Spoon

Using a plastic knife or spoon, carefully scrape off any excess toothpaste that is still sitting on the surface of the shoe. Be careful not to push too hard as you may damage the material of the shoe. Once you have scraped off as much of toothpaste as possible, set the knife or spoon aside.

Step 2: Wet a Sponge, Washcloth or Cotton Pad with Cold Water

Fill a bowl or sink with cold water, then wet a clean sponge, washcloth or cotton pad with the cold water. Gently dab wet sponge, washcloth or cotton pad onto the stained area, taking care not to scrub. Continue to dab until the stain has lightened and the majority of the toothpaste has been removed.

Step 3: Apply a Stain Remover

If the toothpaste stain is still visible after following the above steps, it's time to break out a stain remover. There are many options available that are designed to tackle even the most stubborn stains. Choose a product that is appropriate for the material of the shoe, and follow the instructions listed on the package.

Step 4: Rinse and Air Dry

Once the stain has been treated with a stain remover, thoroughly rinse the area with cold water until all traces of the remover have been removed. Then, place the sneakers in a well-ventilated area to air dry. Avoid using a dryer, heat or direct sunlight, as this could cause the stain to set.
