Toothpaste stains can show up on many fabrics like cotton, polyester, and silk. The key to removing these stains is to reduce the stain with a little agitation and then use detergents to dissolve and break it down. Here are the best ways to remove toothpaste stains from silk nylon fabric.
With a spoon or hard object, scrape off any excess paste from the garment. This will reduce the amount of paste that’s left in the fabric.
Make a solution of equal parts water and laundry detergent. Apply this solution directly onto the stained area and let sit for five minutes. Then, rub the fabric together to agitate the solution and loosen up the stain.
Put garment in washing machine and select the hottest cycle available. Make sure to add the recommended amount of laundry detergent or pre-treating solution. Let cycle finish and if the stain is still present, repeat the process.
Once the cycle is complete, air-dry the garment. Avoid using the dryer as the heat can bake in stain. If the stain is still visible after drying, repeat the above steps until the stain is gone.
