Start by rubbing a small amount of liquid detergent directly onto the toothpaste stain. Gently massage it into the fabric using your fingertips. This will help loosen the stain and make it easier to remove.
Fill a sink or basin with lukewarm water, then add 1/4 cup of vinegar. Mix it together until the water is sudsy, then place the stained area of the sari into the water. Allow it to soak for 10 minutes.
After soaking, take the sari out of water and rinse it under lukewarm running water. Then, put a few drops of mild liquid laundry detergent directly onto stain. Gently rub the detergent into the fabric using your fingertips in a circular motion. Rinse the area again with water, then hang the sari up to air dry.
If the stain is still visible after washing, you may need to use bleach. Mix 1 part bleach with 4 parts water in a bowl, then dip a cotton swab into the mixture. Carefully dab the stain with the swab until it begins to fade. Be sure to avoid over-bleaching the fabric, as this could cause it to become discolored. Lastly, rinse the sari with cold water and hang it to air dry.
Removing toothpaste stains from a sari may seem daunting, but with just a few simple steps and the right products, it can be done quickly and easily. Pre-treat the stain, soak fabric with vinegar, wash it with detergent, and bleach if necessary. By following these steps, you can get rid of toothpaste stains for good.
