When cleaning pots and pans, many of us rely on specializing cleaning products. But for lower intensity jobs like removing toothpaste stains we don't need to reach for the heavy duty stuff – regular old white toothpaste will do the trick! It's a great choice whether the stain is older or more recent.

Steps to Remove Toothpaste Stains from Pots and Pans

  1. Apply a generous amount of white toothpaste onto the stained area.
  2. Leave the toothpaste to sit for 10-20 minutes.
  3. Once the time is up, grab a soft damp cloth and start to rub the toothpaste into the stain.
  4. Continue to scrub until the stain starts to lift.
  5. If you're still having trouble removing the stain, apply more toothpaste and repeat the scrubbing process, this time for longer.
  6. Once the stain is gone, use a fresh damp cloth to remove all the residue and give your pot or pan a final rinse.
  7. Let air dry or use a soft cloth to quickly dry surface.

Tips to Remember while Cleaning Toothpaste Stains with Toothpaste

  • Avoid using flavoured toothpastes as these tend to leave a residue when drying.
  • Always use a gentle motion when scrubbing.
  • Avoid harsher abrasives such as steel wool and scouring pads.
  • Test the toothpaste on a small area of the pot or pan first before applying it to the entire stain.
  • When doing a quick touch-up, a dab of toothpaste and a soft cloth are all you need.
