To prepare stain for cleaning, first make sure it’s wet. Use warm water and a damp cloth, sponge, or soft-bristled toothbrush to saturate the stain. This will help loosen up any hardened toothpaste residue.
Mix a teaspoon of dish soap with a teaspoon of white vinegar and a tablespoon of baking soda in the bowl. Stir the solution with a spoon until ingredients are blended together.
Using sponge or cloth, dip it into the cleaning solution and use it to lightly scrub the stained area until all residue has been removed.
Once the stain is gone, rinse the solution off of the garment with warm water. If there are still any signs of the stain, repeat the cleaning process until all toothpaste residue is removed.
Finally, hang garment up to air-dry, or tumble dry low. Do not use an iron or other heat source as this could cause irreversible damage to Merino wool fabric.
