When dealing with a toothpaste stain, the best thing to do is act quickly. You will want to gently remove as much of the toothpaste as possible before it starts to dry and set in. For best results, use running water, a damp cloth, and a light detergent to wipe away the excess toothpaste from the stained area.

If the toothpaste stain is still visible, try to use a laundry detergent specifically designed for delicate materials. Be sure to follow the instructions on the product package and remember to never use bleach or hot water. If the stain is still visible after washing, you may need to spot clean it.

Mix one tablespoon of liquid dish soap with two cups of lukewarm water in a shallow bowl. Dip a white cloth into the mixture and dab the stain until it disappears. Then, rinse area with cold water. Let the fabric air dry or press it quickly with a hairdryer.

If stain persists, you should consider taking the garment to a dry cleaner. They will have the necessary equipment and products to thoroughly clean the delicate fabric of your maxi dress.
