Dry Cleaning

The most reliable method for removing toothpaste stains from lingerie is to take the item to a reputable dry cleaner. When you drop off the garment, explain to the attendant that there are toothpaste stains present and ask them to pre-treat area before attempting to remove the stain. It might cost extra, but process is quick and should yield best results.

Washing by Hand

If you choose to wash lingerie by hand, be sure to use cold water and a mild detergent. Do not scrub or rub the stain too harshly, as this could result in permanent damage to fabric. Gently blot the stained area with a cloth soaked in the solution. It may take a few tries, but eventually the stain should lift. Rinse the area thoroughly and lay the garment flat to dry.

Using Chlorine Bleach

If all else fails, you can use chlorine bleach to remove the stain. This should only be done on white fabrics, as bleaching has potential to discolor colored garments. Dilute the bleach in a bucket of cold water, following the package instructions. Dip the garment into the mixture and allow it to soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Once again, do not scrub or rub the stain, as this could damage the fabric.
