Step 1: Gather your Supplies

Before you begin, make sure you have the following items on hand:

  • Clean white cloth
  • Sponge
  • Cleaning solution
  • Bucket of warm water
  • Vacuum cleaner (optional)

Step 2: Blot the Stain

Using a clean cloth, blot the stained area gently to remove excess toothpaste. Be careful not to rub the fabric, as this could cause the stain to spread.

Step 3: Pre-treat the Stain with Cleaning Solution

Create your own cleaning solution by combining one teaspoon of dish soap and one cup of warm water in a bowl. Dip a sponge in the mixture, and gently apply it to the stained area. Make sure that you use a light dabbing motion, and don’t rub or scrub material.

Step 4: Rinse the Fabric

After pre-treating the stain, rinse fabric with a clean sponge dampened in warm water. This will help to remove any remaining soap residue from material.

Step 5: Dry the Fabric

After rinsing, dry the fabric using a clean dry cloth or towel. Then, lay fabric flat, and use a hairdryer to dry any remaining moisture away.

Step 6: Vacuum the Drapery

If desired, use a vacuum cleaner to remove any remaining dirt or debris from the surface of fabric.
