When dealing with toothpaste-stained clothing, it's important to act quickly. Fresh stains are more easily removed than old stains. As soon as you notice the stain, begin steps below to remove it:

Removing Toothpaste Stains

  1. Place the garment in warm water immediately. You may want to let it soak for at least an hour in the water.
  2. Gently rub a mild detergent onto the stain as much as possible. Rinse.
  3. Lay your down jacket flat on a dry towel, and leave it overnight. The moisture should absorb into the towel.

If these steps aren't enough to remove the stain, you may need to try more specialized techniques. Use a pre-treatment product applied directly to the stain, then rinse with cold water. Repeat as needed, or take your garment to a professional dry cleaner.
