Using a plastic knife, scrape off any remaining residue from the stain. Make sure not to rub the fabric too hard, as this could cause it to fray or tear. If possible, try using a spoon instead of a knife to avoid any potential damage.
Mix a tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups of cold water in a bowl. Dip a white cloth into the mixture, wring out the excess water, and blot the stain gently. Do not scrub the stain, as this can make it worse. Continue blotting and rinsing the cloth in the solution until stain starts to lighten.
Rinse the fabric with cold water to remove any remaining detergent. Be careful not to agitate the fabric too much, as it can cause it to shrink or lose its shape.
Wash the fabric in the machine with a mild detergent. To protect delicate fabric, use the gentle cycle and air dry the fabric. Do not put it in the dryer, as this can set the stain permanently.
If the stain still remains after washing, use a stain remover specifically formulated for delicates. Follow instructions on the label and reapply if necessary. Once stain is gone, rinse the fabric again and let it air dry.
With a few easy steps, you can get rid of pesky toothpaste stains on double georgette fabric. Now that your fabric is clean, you can be proud to wear your garments!
