Removing toothpaste stains from a dashiki requires special care, as the fabric is delicate and many cleaning products can damage it. If you want to keep your dashiki looking its best, follow these simple steps:

  • First, fill a sink or basin with warm water and 1/4 cup of laundry detergent. Soak fabric in this solution for 15 minutes.
  • While the fabric is soaking, mix a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water. Dip a sponge in this mixture, and blot the stained area until it’s saturated. Leave the vinegar solution on the fabric for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, rinse the dashiki with warm water and allow it to air dry. Do not use a dryer or other heat source, as this could damage the fabric.

These simple steps should be enough to remove most toothpaste stains from a dashiki. However, if you still notice the stain after following these instructions, it may be necessary to enlist the help of a professional cleaner.

Once your dashiki is clean, be sure to hang it up or store it away from direct sunlight. This will help protect the colors and ensure that your favorite ethnic wear looks its best for years to come.
