  • Mild detergent or liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Soft cloth or sponge
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Clean, damp cloth

Steps to Remove Toothpaste Stains from Cotton Poplin

  1. Make sure that your fabric is dry before you begin.
  2. Using a soft cloth or sponge, dab the stained area with a mild detergent or liquid laundry detergent.
  3. Rinse the detergent from the fabric.
  4. Mix together equal parts of white vinegar and warm water in a bowl.
  5. Pour the mixture over the stained area, making sure to cover the entire area.
  6. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
  7. If the stain is still visible, make a paste using baking soda and water and apply to the stained area.
  8. Let the paste sit on the stain for 15 minutes.
  9. Using a damp cloth, gently rub the paste into the stain in a circular motion.
  10. Rinse off the paste with cool water, then dab area dry with a clean cloth.
  11. If the stain persists, use hydrogen peroxide and rub into stain. Let sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with cool water.
  12. Allow the fabric to air dry completely before wearing or putting away.
