3 Simple Steps to Remove Toothpaste Stains from Denim

Nobody wants their jeans stained with toothpaste! Here are three easy steps you can take to get rid of the pesky paste.

Step 1: Apply Detergent

The first thing you want to do is apply liquid detergent directly onto the stain. Leave it on for about one minute, then rub it gently with a soft cloth. If you'd like, you can use a toothbrush to help scrub out the stain. Don't be too rough as it might damage the denim fabric.

Step 2: Soak in Vinegar and Water

Next, fill a bucket or basin with warm water and white vinegar. The ratio should be 1/4 cup of vinegar per quart of water. Once the mixture is ready, place your garment in it and let it soak for about one hour. This will help to break down the toothpaste and make it easier to remove.

Step 3: Wash in Hot Water

Finally, put the garment in the washing machine and set it to the hottest water setting. Add a small amount of liquid detergent before washing. Once the cycle is finished, let the garment air-dry before wearing it.
