In a bowl or container, mix together one part vinegar with one part baking soda. This will create a bubbling solution that will break down any toothpaste clogs in your pipes.
Once your solution is ready, pour it down the drain and wait for the bubbling action to subside. This may take up to 10 minutes depending on the severity of the clog.
When the bubbling has subsided, pour a pot of boiling water into drain. This will flush out the vinegar and baking soda mixture and any loosened toothpaste or debris.
If your clog is still present after pouring boiling water down the drain, try a plunger. Make sure to cover entire drain with the plunger and then pull up and down vigorously. This should break up any remaining stubborn clogs.
The best way to prevent toothpaste clogs in your bathroom is to be mindful of how much you’re squeezing out of the tube. Try to keep it to just one pump and always rinse your sink when you’re done using it.
