Start by dampening the stained area with cold water. Use a laundry detergent containing enzymes to remove the stain. Avoid using hot water as this could set the stain into the fabric. Work the detergent into the stain in small circles and let it sit for around 15 minutes. You can also use a pre-treatment stick or spray to help break up the stain.
After waiting, place your chambray in the washing machine. Make sure to set the cycle to the gentle setting to avoid any further damage. Depending on your washing machine, you may be able to choose a designated stain cycle.
Now that your chambray has gone through its cycle, inspect the stain to see if it is still visible. If the stain is still not fully gone, repeat the entire process again.
Once you are satisfied with your chambray's condition, hang it out to dry. Do not put it in the dryer as this could cause serious damage to fabric. Your chambray should now be free of toothpaste stains and ready to be worn!
