If the toothpaste is still wet, act fast! Grab a soft cloth and press it against the stain to soak up as much of it as you can. Be sure to avoid rubbing the fabric, as this will cause stain to spread.
Once you’ve soaked up what you can, apply a small amount of soft detergent directly onto the stain. Then, dab at the spot gently with a soft cloth to work the detergent into the fabric. Make sure not to rub it in or you'll have a bigger mess on your hands.
Rinse the stained area with cold water until the fabric gets clear. If you're dealing with stubborn stains, you may need to repeat this process a couple of times. Keep in mind that hot water can actually cause the stain to set more firmly, so stick to cold only.
If stain still won't come out after you've done your best to spot clean it, take it to the professionals. Have them professionally dry clean the garment, and then you can be assured stain is gone for good.
Finally, to prevent future toothpaste stains, always be sure to dry off your toothbrush before placing it back in your dresser or bathroom. Toothpaste should never be kept near clothing, especially if it's white - the last thing you want is for the tube to burst and ruin your favorite shirt!
