Toothpaste may seem like a harmless enough product, but when it gets on your broomstick lace, it can leave behind sticky residue and stubborn stains. Thankfully, there are a few simple steps you can take to get rid of the toothpaste stains, and make your fabric good as new again.
If the toothpaste is still wet and hasn't dried on the fabric yet, then you’re in luck. You’ll be able to remove the stain far more easily when it's fresh. Use a paper towel, absorbent cloth, or sponge to blot up toothpaste and any extra liquid around it.
Once excess liquid has been blotted off, fill a spray bottle with an oxygen-based stain remover and spritz it generously onto stained area. Allow it to soak in for a few minutes before scrubbing it in with a soft bristle brush. The oxygen-based formula will help to break down the staining particles and eliminate the discoloration.
Once you’ve scrubbed in the stain remover, rinse the area thoroughly with lukewarm water. Then, submerge fabric into a solution of warm water and detergent and handwash it until the toothpaste stain is gone. Rinse again and hang up the fabric somewhere sunny to dry.
