Materials You Will Need

  • Mild detergent
  • Lukewarm water
  • White vinegar
  • Soft brush or cloth

Instructions

  1. Start by mixing ¼ teaspoon of mild detergent with a cup of lukewarm water.
  2. Immerse the affected area of the Battenberg lace in this solution for about 10 minutes.
  3. After removing lace from the solution, rinse it with cold water.
  4. Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 2 cups of warm water.
  5. Soak the stained area in the vinegar and water solution for about 30 minutes.
  6. Gently scrub the affected area with a soft brush or cloth to dislodge any remaining particles of toothpaste.
  7. Rinse the Battenberg lace with cold water to remove all traces of vinegar.
  8. Lay the lace flat on a towel and let it air dry.

  • Take care to not rub the fabric too hard or you could damage the delicate Battenberg lace.
  • Do not put the Battenberg lace in the dryer or expose it to direct sunlight.
