  • Start by scraping off as much of dried toothpaste as possible with a spoon or other blunt object.
  • Mix one tablespoon of mild dishwashing liquid with two cups of warm water in a bowl.
  • Dip a soft cloth into the solution and then wring it out.
  • Gently dab stained area with cloth until the stain is removed.
  • Let area dry completely.
  • Polish the flats with a clean, soft cloth.

White ballet flats can tend to be more delicate than other colors and require special care when cleaning. Use the following tips for cleaning white ballet flats with toothpaste stains:

  • Start by soaking the stained area in a mixture of two cups of warm water and two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide.

  • Rinse area off with cold water.
  • Mix one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent with one cup of warm water in a bowl.
  • Dampen a soft cloth with the detergent mixture and gently rub the stained area until stain is gone.
  • Rinse the area off with cold water.
  • Let the flats air dry before wearing them again.
