Step 1: Pretreat

Mix a solution of bleach-free laundry detergent and warm water. Soak a white cloth in mixture and wipe down the stained area of apron. Work on one section at a time until the stain is visibly removed.

Step 2: Rinse

Once you have removed as much of the stain as you can, rinse the apron to remove any excess detergent. Be sure to use cold or lukewarm water to avoid fading or shrinking the fabric.

Step 3: Wash

Place the apron in washing machine on a gentle cycle. Add a mild laundry detergent to the machine - do not use bleach or harsh detergents, as this can damage the fabric. You can also add a fabric softener for added protection.

Step 4: Dry

Once apron has been washed, hang it up to dry. Do not put apron in the dryer, as this can set stain further into the fabric.

How do I avoid staining my apron?

To avoid staining your apron in the future, try wearing a smock when brushing your teeth. This will help protect your clothing from any toothpaste splatter or residue.
