Toothpaste residues can cause discoloration and damage to fabric materials, so you need to act quickly in order to prevent any permanent staining. Here are the steps to get rid of those toothpaste stain remnants on your aline dress.
The first step is to remove any abrasive particles that may be embedded into fabric. Do this by using a soft brush or wax paper to carefully dab stained area. Make sure to always dab downwards, so as to avoid spreading the stain further.
Once all the abrasive particles have been removed, it's time to pre-treat the area. To do this, mix two parts white vinegar with one part water. Using a clean cloth, apply the solution directly onto the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. The vinegar and water mixture will help break down any buildup and make it easier for you to remove stain.
Once the pre-treatment is done, it's time to put the dress into the washing machine. Set the machine to a gentle cycle and use a mild detergent. Then, add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the water and let the washing machine run its course. After the cycle is complete, hang dress to dry.
If there are still traces of the toothpaste stain, you can spot clean them with a cloth soaked in a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water. Again, dab the area gently with the cloth. If the stain persists, repeat the pre-treatment and wash cycle until the stain is completely removed.
By following these simple steps, you can effectively remove those pesky toothpaste stains from your favorite aline dress. Remember to always pre-treat the stain before popping it into the washing machine and take the necessary precautions to ensure the stain doesn't spread further.
