If you spot a toothpaste stain on your Adidas before it has a chance to dry, start by taking a damp cloth and gently blotting at spot. Don’t rub—blot! Rubbing the area may only push the stain farther into the fabric and make it more difficult to remove.
Once you’ve blotted the area, it’s time to prepare a cleaning solution. Mix together one part white vinegar and two parts warm water, then apply it directly onto the stain.
Once the stain is saturated with cleaning solution, work the solution into the fabric using either a damp cloth or a soft brush. Be sure not to scrub too hard—the last thing you want is to damage the material! Keep working until you’ve removed as much of the toothpaste as possible.
When you’re done working the solution into the fabric, rinse entire area with warm water. This will help to remove any residue that’s left behind.
Now it’s time to break out the laundry detergent. Place a small amount of the detergent onto the stain and work it into the fabric with a damp cloth. Remember to be gentle!
Once you’ve worked the laundry detergent into the fabric, let everything air dry. Once the spot is completely dry, check to see if any of the toothpaste stain is still visible. If there’s still evidence of the stain, repeat Steps 2–5 until the stain is gone.
Once you’ve removed stain, it’s a good idea to give your Adidas a thorough wash. Toss it into the washing machine with some cold water and a mild detergent. Then all you have to do is let it air dry and you’ll be good to go!
