When you’re out crushing your fitness goals, last thing you want is a toothpaste stain on your trusty activewear. The good news is, these unsightly marks don’t have to stick around forever. With some simple cleaning know-how, any toothpaste stain can easily be removed from your activewear.
As soon as you notice a toothpaste stain on your activewear, take action right away. Use a spoon or dull knife to very gently scrape off any dried residue. Don’t press too hard, as this might damage the fabric. Once you’ve removed as much of residue as possible, turn the garment inside out and flush the area with cold water until stain is gone.
After scraping off the residue, you may still need to spot treat the stain. To do this, apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly onto the stain. Make sure to use an enzyme-based detergent for best results. Gently rub the detergent into the fabric to loosen the stain, then rinse the suds away with cold water.
Now it’s time to wash garment as normal. Put it in the machine and select a cold-water cycle. You should also opt for a gentle or delicate setting to help protect the fabric. After the wash is complete, check the garment to make sure that the toothpaste stain has completely lifted – if not, repeat steps 1 and 2 until it’s gone.
Once the stain is removed, hang your activewear up to dry in a warm, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can lead to fading and other damage. And voila – your activewear is as good as new!
