What You Need

  • Soft cloths
  • Dish detergent
  • White vinegar or hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda
  • Non-abrasive sponge

Steps to Clean Acrylic with Toothpaste Stains

  1. Wipe the Surface: Begin by wiping the surface of the acrylic with a soft cloth to remove any excess toothpaste.
  2. Create a Cleaning Solution: Create a mixture of dish detergent and water in a bowl. You can adjust strength of the solution depending upon how bad the stain is.
  3. Apply the Solution: Using a non-abrasive sponge, apply the cleaning solution to the stained area. Scrub gently and avoid using an abrasive pad as this can damage the surface of acrylic.
  4. Rinse the Area: Rinse the area with clean water and wipe off with a soft cloth.
  5. Repeat if Necessary: If stain is still visible, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain has been removed.

Alternative Solutions

If the above method doesn't work, you can try an alternative cleaning solution. Mix together equal parts white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Apply this mixture to the stained area and scrub with a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse the area with cool water and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Tips for Preventing Toothpaste Stains on Acrylic

  • Make sure to regularly wipe down the surface of the acrylic with a damp cloth to remove any toothpaste, water, or other debris.
  • Always use a gentle cleanser or cleaning solution to clean the acrylic.
  • Avoid using abrasive pads or sponges when cleaning the acrylic.
