Removing Tomato Stains from Workwear: A Step-by-Step Guide
Tomato stains can be particularly challenging to remove from workwear due to the strong pigmentation of the tomato’s juices. Fortunately, there are several methods you can use to successfully tackle these pesky stains, with minimal effort and money.

Method 1 – Removal with Detergent Solution
- Take your workwear item and turn it inside out.
- Mix a solution of warm water and an enzyme detergent in a basin.
- Soak the stained area of your workwear in the solution for at least 15 minutes.
- Gently rub the area of the stain with a soft cloth or your fingers.
- Rinse the garment under cold running water.
- If the stain remains, repeat steps 2-5.
- Once the stain is gone, wash the garment in washing machine using the appropriate settings for your workwear fabric.
Method 2 – Using Baking Soda and Vinegar
- Make a paste of baking soda and vinegar. The ratio should be 3 parts baking soda to 1 part vinegar.
- Apply the paste to the stained area of the garment.
- Leave paste to settle for at least 30 minutes.
- Use a soft cloth or your fingers to rub the area.
- Rinse garment under cold running water.
- Repeat steps 2-5 if the stain persists.
- Once the stain is gone, wash garment in the washing machine using the appropriate settings for your workwear fabric.
