Start by blotting up as much of the tomato juice as you can, using a clean towel. Gently press the towel into the stain and rotate it as needed, avoiding harsh rubbing. This will help keep the juice from entering deeper into the fabric fibers.
Make a stain solution by mixing ½ teaspoon of mild dish soap with one cup of lukewarm water. Dip a clean cloth into the solution, then gently dab stain with the damp cloth. Again, be sure to avoid rubbing or scrubbing the fabric. Blot with a dry cloth to absorb any remaining moisture.
It may take more than simple dabbing and blotting to remove stain. For tougher tomato stains, soak fabric in the soap and water solution. Let the fabric soak for 15-20 minutes or longer, depending on the severity of the stain. After soaking, rinse Versace garment in cold water and lay flat to dry.
If stain still won't budge after blotting, washing, and soaking, use a commercial stain remover. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before applying the product, as some may cause further damage to delicate Versace fabrics. As with soap solution, rinse the garment in cold water after using stain remover, then lay it flat to dry.
No one wants to deal with tomato stains, but with preventative care and quick action, you can minimize their effects. Always blot and treat the stain as soon as possible after it appears, following the steps above. Additionally, take special care of your Versace garments and try to avoid contact with foods that are more prone to staining.
