Removing Fresh Tomato Stains
- Using a paper towel or a cloth, blot stained area as soon as possible to remove as much of the tomato as possible.
- Mix a solution of one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent with two cups of cold water.
- Blot the stained area with the solution until the stain is removed.
- Rinse the twill fabric with cold water.
- Once stain has completely faded, launder the item as usual. Air dry.
Removing Set-In Tomato Stains
- Mix a solution of one tablespoon of dish soap with two cups of warm water.
- Dip an old toothbrush in the solution, and brush it on the stained area in a circular motion.
- Leave soap solution on the stain for up to 10 minutes before rinsing it with cold water.
- If the stain still persists, soak the item in a mixture of one quart of warm water, one tablespoon of vinegar, and half a teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent.
- Rinse the fabric thoroughly then air dry.
- Once stain has completely faded, launder the item as usual.
