Start by taking a cloth soaked in cool water and gently dabbing it onto the tomato stain. This will help lift away some of the juice and loosen up the fibers. Don't rub the material, though, since this will only spread the stain further.
Fill a sink or bucket with lukewarm water, a few drops of mild detergent, and a teaspoon of white vinegar. Then submerge tussah fabric into soapy water and let it soak for 30 minutes.
Once tussah has soaked for 30 minutes, take a soft-bristled brush and gently begin scrubbing the tomato stain. It may take a few minutes of light scrubbing before you begin to see results.
After the stain has been scrubbed away, rinse the tussah fabric with cold water. Make sure to double-check the fabric for any remaining tomato residue before moving on to the next step.
Finally, hang the tussah fabric up to air-dry. Try not to put it in the dryer, as this could cause stain to set permanently.
And there you have it! Tomato stains on tussah are now a thing of the past. With these 5 simple steps, you'll have your tussah fabric looking good as new in no time.
