What You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Dry cloth of a non-staining fabric

Instructions:

  1. If the stain is fresh, dab the area with a damp cloth to soak up as much of the tomato juice as possible.
  2. Generously pour white vinegar over entire stained area.
  3. Allow the vinegar to sit for at least five minutes.
  4. Rinse the area with cold water.
  5. Dab the area with a dry cloth to soak up the remaining liquid.
  6. Repeat Steps 2-5 until the stain has been fully removed.

Additional Tips:

  • Always test a small area of tights with the vinegar first to make sure it won't discolor or damage the fabric.
  • Never rub the fabric while cleaning, as this can cause damage or further spread the stain.
  • For particularly stubborn stains, you can mix 1/4 teaspoon of mild laundry detergent with one cup of water and apply it to the stain directly.
  • Be sure to air-dry your tights after cleaning, as high heat from dryer could cause the stain to set.

With this easy cleaning trick, you can keep tomato stains from ruining your favorite clothes!
