It’s hard to resist the temptation of indulging in your favorite tomato-based dish, especially when it’s served over beautiful and delicate Teneriffe lace. But while we all love to savor these delicious slices of heaven, no one wants to deal with hassle of cleaning the stubborn tomato stains off their favorite laces.

Tomatoes contain lycopene and sulfur, both of which are very difficult to remove from fabric. It can take a lot of scrubbing, soaking and even special solutions to remove the stains from your Teneriffe lace. Luckily, there’s an easy way to do it with just three simple ingredients: dish soap, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Dish soap
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide

Instructions:

  1. Mix one teaspoon of dish soap with ¼ cup of baking soda and two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide in a bowl.
  2. Stir ingredients until they form a thick paste.
  3. Spread the paste over the tomato stain on the Teneriffe lace.
  4. Let paste sit on stain for 15 minutes.
  5. Scrub the paste gently into the fabric using a soft-bristled brush.
  6. Rinse the paste off with cold water.
  7. Repeat as needed until the stain is completely gone.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Be gentle when scrubbing the paste into fabric so as to not damage the lace.
  • You may need to repeat the process a few times for stubborn stains.
  • If the paste dries out before you can rinse it off, dampen it with a wet cloth before scrubbing.
