Step-by-Step Guide
- Blot tomato stain with a sponge to absorb any excess liquid or sauce. Don't scrub it, as this could cause the stain to spread.
- Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with one-half cup of white vinegar, and stir to create a paste. Dip a sponge in the paste and apply it directly to tomato stain. Leave it on for 15 minutes.
- Put an ice cube in a plastic bag, and place it over the tomato stain. This will help set stain.
- Wash the sweater in lukewarm water on the delicate cycle. Add a small amount of liquid laundry detergent to wash cycle.
- Check tomato stain before putting the sweater in the dryer. If it's still visible, repeat Steps 1-4 before drying it.
