Step 1: Blot the Stain Immediately

The first step is to try and soak up as much of the stain as you can, before it has a chance to seep in. To do this, use a soft cloth or paper towel to blot the stain, rather than rubbing it, which could cause further damage to fabric.

Step 2: Create a Cleaning Solution

Mix one part white vinegar with two parts water, and bring the solution to a boil. Once boiling, remove the solution from heat and add a tablespoon of natural laundry detergent, such as Castile soap.

Step 3: Soak Stain

Carefully submerge the stained area of the garment into the cleaning solution and allow the fabric to soak for at least 30 minutes. When finished, remove garment from solution and rinse with cold water.

Step 4: Launder As Usual

The final step is to simply launder the garment as usual. Make sure to check that all of the tomato stains are gone before drying. If the stains are still visible, repeat the above steps until the stain is completely removed.

Conclusion

Tomato stains can be an annoying and persistent addition to your favorite garments. Thankfully, by following the steps described above, removing those stubborn tomato stains from your silk taffeta clothing is easy and efficient!
