  • Mineral or baby oil
  • White vinegar
  • Soft cloth
  • Dry-cleaning solvent
  • Dish detergent

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Blot the stain with a soft cloth, removing as much of it as possible.
  2. Mix a solution of 1/4 teaspoon of dish detergent and one cup of warm water.
  3. Using a clean cloth, gently rub the mixture on the stain. Do this in circular motions.
  4. Wash stained area with cold water, then blot dry with a soft cloth
  5. Pour a few drops of mineral or baby oil directly on stain. Let the oil sit for about 15 minutes.

  7. If there is still some residue from the tomato stain, mix equal parts of white vinegar and water and pour it directly on the stain. Let it set for about 10 minutes.
  8. Rinse off with cold water and blot it dry with a soft cloth.
  9. If any of the tomato stain remains, spot treat it with a dry-cleaning solvent then rinse off with cold water.
