No matter if you accidentally got some tomato sauce on your favorite scarf while eating out or you have an old stain that won't come off, you can take matters into your own hands and get your scarf looking nice and clean. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Start by gently blotting the stained area with a damp cloth to soak up as much of the liquid as possible. Do not rub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to spread.
  • Make a cleaning solution with one tablespoon of dish detergent and two cups of warm water. Submerge stained area in the solution for five minutes.
  • Rinse scarf with cold running water until the soap is gone. Alternatively, you can use a bowl of cold water for this step.
  • Gently blot the scarf with a clean cloth to remove excess water.
  • Lay the scarf out over a towel or drying rack and let it air dry. Do not put it in the dryer, as this will set stain.

If stain persists after following these steps, try sprinkling baking soda directly on the stain. Then add some white vinegar over the baking soda, and let it sit for 5 minutes. Rinse the scarf with cold water and repeat the process until the stain is gone.

With these tips, you will be able to remove tomato stains from your scarf quickly and easily. In no time, you can once again wear your favorite scarf without worrying about unsightly stains.
