What You Will Need:

  • Laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Paper towels
  • Cold water
  • OxiClean (optional)

Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step is to blot the stain with paper towels as quickly as possible. This will help to remove any excess sauce and prevent it from seeping deeper into the fabric fibers.

Step 2: Mix a Solution

In a small bowl, mix together one tablespoon of laundry detergent, two tablespoons of white vinegar, and three tablespoons of baking soda. Mix the ingredients until they are combined into a paste.

Step 3: Apply the Paste

Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Between 10 and 15 minutes, you’ll also want to gently rub the paste in with your fingers.

Step 4: Rinse with Cold Water

Rinse the paste off of the garment with cold water. The paste should begin to dissolve and the stain should start to lift.

Step 5: Repeat if Necessary

If the stain remains after the paste has been rinsed, repeat steps 2-4 as needed. You may also want to try using OxiClean.

Step 6: Let Garment Air Dry

Once the stain has been removed, ensure that the garment is completely dry before storing it away. Hang it to air dry and avoid using a clothes dryer.
