Supplies Needed

  • Dish soap
  • Small bowl
  • Soft cloth or sponge
  • Olive oil

Step 1: Create Dish Soap Mixture

Mix a small amount of dish soap and warm water in a bowl until foamy. Do not use too much water, as this may cause fabric of your shoes to become soaked.

Step 2: Use Soft Cloth or Sponge

Dip your soft cloth or sponge into the mixture, and then gently dab the stained area on your shoes. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the fabric, as this can damage the material.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Once the tomato stain has been blotted away, rinse the area with clean water and allow the shoes to air dry completely.

Additional Method: Olive Oil

If the stain still won’t come out after dabbing it with soapy water, try this trick: pour a small amount of olive oil onto a soft cloth, and then lightly massage the stained area for several minutes. The oil should help break down the tomato stain, making it easier to remove. Once the area is clean, rinse with warm water and allow to air dry.

Conclusion

Tomato stains can be tricky, but they don’t have to ruin your favorite pair of shoes. By using the techniques outlined in this article, you can quickly and easily remove tomato stains, leaving your shoes looking brand new again.
