If you notice the tomato stain on your mohair right away, it'll be much easier to remove than if you wait. Take some paper towels and blot the spot to absorb as much of the sauce as possible. Don't rub, press lightly.
For small spots, combine 1 teaspoon of ammonia with 1 cup of cold water in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth into the solution and gently blot the stained area. Ammonia will both clean and remove tomato stain if caught early.
If the stain still remains, mix 1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid with 2 cups of cold water in a bowl. Then, dip a clean cloth into mixture and apply it to the stained area. Gently work it into the fabric in a circular motion, then rinse with a damp cloth.
Take a dry towel and gently press against the fabric to absorb any remaining moisture. Once dry, brush fabric to restore the original texture.
