If you've got a fresh tomato stain on your midi dress, act fast! Blot stained area with a cloth or paper towel to remove as much of tomato as you can. Don't rub or scrub, as this will only make the stain worse.
Mix a quarter teaspoon of mild liquid detergent with two cups of warm water. Submerge stained area of the midi dress in the mixture and let it sit for 15 minutes. Gently blot the stain with a soft cloth to remove as much of the stain as possible.
If the stain is still visible, apply a stain remover that's formulated to remove tomato stains. Allow the stain remover to sit on dress for several minutes before blotting again with a cloth. For stubborn stains, repeat this step several times until stain has been removed.
Rinse dress with cool water, then wash normally according to the fabric care instructions. Allow the dress to air dry or use a low heat setting on the dryer. Hang in a shaded area away from direct sunlight.
