Step 1: Pre-Treat Stain

As soon as possible, pre-treat the tomato stain with a stain remover specifically designed for fabric. Spray or rub the stain remover onto affected area and let it sit for 5 minutes. This will help break down the stain and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Rinse Out The Stain

Once stain remover has had a chance to work, rinse the area with cold water. If the stain is still there, repeat this step until it’s gone. You may also want to use a mild detergent to help lift stain further.

Step 3: Hand Wash the Garment

If the stain is still present, it’s time to hand wash the garment. Use a mild detergent and warm water, and gently rub fabric together to remove the stain. Once the stain is gone, rinse the item in cold water to remove any remaining detergent.

Step 4: Air Dry The Garment

Once you have washed the item, allow it to air dry. Do not put it into the washing machine or the dryer, as this can set the stain. Hang the item on a line or lay it flat on a towel in a sunny spot. Once it is fully dry, the stain should be gone.
