Step One: Remove Fresh Tomato Stain
To start, soak up any excess liquid from the macramé piece with a dry paper towel. Then use a mixture of three parts white vinegar and one part cold water to blot stain gently.
Step Two: Treat Set-In Tomato Stain
For a set-in stain, combine a tablespoon each of dish soap, white vinegar, and baking soda. Gently rub the paste into the stain, then wipe away with a damp cloth and rinse the area with cold water.
Step Three: Final Cleaning Steps
Once the stain is removed, machine wash the macramé as you normally would. After that, lay the material flat to air-dry, away from direct sunlight.
