The first step is to blot the stain with a paper towel. Don't rub or scrub, as this will just make the stain worse. Quickly press the paper towel onto the stained area several times until you've absorbed as much of tomato juice as possible.
Soak the garment in cold water for about 30 minutes. This will help to loosen and lift the stain. You may want to add a small amount of detergent or dish soap to the water, as this can help break up the stain further.
After soaking, apply white vinegar directly to the stain. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with cold water. The vinegar should help to lift the stain. If the stain isn't completely gone, repeat the process.
Next, wash garment in hot water using a mild detergent. Make sure to follow instructions on the tag for best results. Then, hang the garment to dry and inspect for any remaining traces of the stain.
If the stain still lingers, mix together a paste of baking soda and water, and rub it directly onto stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then wash in hot water as before. This should do trick.
No matter what stain may be, the key to removing it is to act fast and use the right techniques. With these tips, you can easily get rid of pesky tomato stains and keep your lingerie looking good as new.
