Remove Tomato Stains from the Lawn with Ease
Stains from tomato juice, sauce, and other tomato-based products can be especially challenging to remove from your lawn. Fortunately, with a few easy steps, you can get rid of those stains and restore your lawn back to looking its best.

Materials You Will Need
- Laundry detergent
- Dish soap
- Mixing bucket
- Sponge or brush
Steps to Remove Tomato Stains From Lawn
- Mix together 1 scoop of laundry detergent, 1 cup of white vinegar and 2 cups of hot water in the mixing bucket.
- Saturate the stained area with liquid mixture.
- Let the mixture settle into the stained area for 5–10 minutes.
- Using either a sponge or a scrub brush, start to gently scrub area where the stain is located.
- After stain has been sufficiently scrubbed, rinse area with cold water.
- If any residue remains after cleaning, mix together 1 tablespoon of dish soap and 1 cup of hot water. Apply this mixture to the affected area and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Scrub the area again and then rinse once more with cold water.
Additional Tips
- Repeat the above steps as necessary until the stain is completely gone.
- Tomato stains can be difficult to remove on warm days, due to the heat quickly drying out the stain before it can be cleaned.
- For stubborn stains, add 1/4 cup of baking soda to the first mixture before scrubbing.
